Did I love this book? No. Did I like it? Sure. Let me start by saying I love Adriana's books. I've read most of them and love all the families she's written. This one though, fell flat. I could not connect with Jaxi. I found her very annoying and whiny. I get it; she's come from a tough past and has scars, but that seemed like all of her character. There was nothing else to her. She always seemed so negative and never had a happy thought. She was very "woe is me" which I hate in a character.Boone on the other hand, I love him. He was a great character and I felt a connection to him. Even though he had his own insecurities, I thought he dealt with them so much better and that those insecurities didn't make up the whole of his character. I also think he also had a better attitude in general. I wish we saw more of him with his brothers. His conversation and dynamic with Oliver has me excited for Oliver's book.And finally, Rosie. She was so cute and she was the reason I kept reading. I loved her little attitude and her love for Boone and I thought her love of Wade was hilarious.I love the Mason family and all their interactions, so they contributed a lot to why I kept reading. Anyway, this one was just not for me, but I still can't wait for Oliver and Wade's books. Adriana Locke does it again! I adore her books more and more with each book, and this is fast becoming a favourite series of mine. The Mason’s are pure swoon and feels. I've been looking forward to Boone’s story - it was one of those fun reads that I couldn't put down. Add in a sprinkle of surprise, a huge dash of emotion and you have a sweet love story.To say I loved Boone and Jaxi’s story would be an understatement. It was such a joy to read. Their relationship was such a fun, sexy, and emotional rollercoaster ride…I never wanted it to end. These two are so much fun together. They had such beautiful chemistry and steamy sex appeal. At the foundation of their relationship is a refreshing friendship. They simply got each other. While Boone came across as a playboy, at his core he's such an amazingly sweet guy that it's impossible not to fall for him. Jaxi was sassy, stubborn and just plain fantastic! She's been hurt, by family no less in the worst possible way. I cheered for her with all my heart because I so wanted to see her have the happiness that she so richly deserved.Adriana Locke has written another wonderful family story that pulled me in and would not let go until I read the very last word. It is warm and full of emotion. It has its heartbreaks and tears, too, but when I had finished, I sighed the happiest of sighs. The Mason series is small town living, family and love at its absolute best. Something tells me this series is only going to get better with each Mason’s story and I for one cannot wait.
